Sat nam, welcome in! Spring has finally come to Detroit, and we are ready to get outside and do some good work! Some of us have yards, which will need plenty of care to keep up with the Jones', and some of us have important work to do out in the streets, as well. The streets will be filled with good workers! Because when the going gets tough, the one's least likely to get arrested get going!
We are so excited to continue to offer the practice of Kundalini Yoga! As long as my body holds up, I intend to offer classes at least 4 times a week. Come join me and Mike for what is always an interesting, fun, enjoyable session of energy-shifting, slightly challenging, body and mind workout!
We are also excited to announce that WE BOUGHT A NEW GONG! The latest addition is a 44" ( our largest gong so far) Chinese Wind Gong. This gong is big, beautiful and bright, and does indeed sound like the ferocious wind through a huge forest of tall trees! This addition to Mike's set up is sure to captivate even the most reluctant mind.

Naad yoga did not find its place in the line up; we had three sessions booked out of a total of 22 classes. So that class has been cancelled.
We are still looking for ways to offer space and time to people who want to enjoy an evening here with us but do not have $25-$40 to do it. So I've developed a new class that lasts one hour, on Monday nights at 7:30 pm.
I'm calling it Kundalini Awakening, and Teach Ourselves to Awaken. Lately I've been getting a lot of calls from folks who have recently experienced an "awakening," OR who are really struggling with pains and anxiety that their doctors can't seem to help them with. Apparently they are googling Kundalini awakening, and landing on Kundalini Yoga. Maybe this class might appeal to those seekers who would like a space to explore the teachings of non-duality. Look for Adyashanti, Mooji, Eckhart Tolle, Michael Singer, Rupert Spira, Nisargadatta, Robert Adams, and Alan Watts.
This class begins with participants in a circle, where we pass the talking stick and have a chance to speak our truths. Then we will mediate to the sound of a teaching, a different teaching each week. That will last between 15-30 minutes, and then we will pass the talking stick again to share if we want. Tea will be served during this part. Class lasts 60-75 minutes.
A donation from $3 to $10 is appreciated, and will go into a fund to offset other clients who need to come in at a lower price point for yoga or sound therapy. We do not turn anyone away for lack a funds. Advocate for yourself if you need our services and are heading into a difficult time financially.
KYD will support all who wish to take a self-care, healing-focused approach to the chaos in the world. When YOU feel better, we ALL feel better.

Our calendar is set up for now until June, when we will close for a couple of weeks. After that, we will send out a new post with offerings and classes for Summer 2025.
